| Review: Oh the possibilities are lost here. In addition to the names of characters and a similar architecture to the house this film finds very little resemblance with dark shadows. The film begins well and then goes in so many directions that strange never find your movie trying to be. Some scattered laughs here and there does not compensate poorly designed story that winds up to the point of being boring and confusing. What can you say about a movie that only comes to life in their assemblies set to pop songs of the early 1970s? Depp did not even try to get a little guilt ridden angst of Barnabas Collins. His Barnabas is a sweetness and mischief Pirates of the Caribbean, and much like a child playing dress Halloween with two emotions, angry and upset. The film has some nice balls stops but Burton did not bring any true Gothic feeling or a sense of dread to the environment.
