| Review: If the original version of Oldboy has a perfect 10 10, this is a mixed 6 10.At first I just returned from the theater and I found this film is a remake narrow g bad if I carry it with excellence, complexity and power of Asian cinema. This movie was pure brilliance. So this new version was very promising, but was raising the bar too high.From Spike Lee is expecting a truly fascinating film or very weak. And in this case I say this is not as bad as it seems here. Clearly some people apparently are going too far. It is disappointing film, but not a bad movie. It focuses too much blood and bloody script instead of the complex characters and situations. The end can be a bit confusing for some viewers.Josh Brolin is one of the best things about this version. Their performance is as good as it's always their papers. The rest of the cast is good or in between. Nothing remarkable under my watch.So this Oldboy is a brilliant and powerful film remake, but a fun one. His bizarre and bloody. Be ready for it. |
