| Review: Maybe I liked this movie because I had such hope for the underground. From the previews, and, of course, just the name, I was sure it was going to be stupid not to funny.But I went to dinner with friends on Saturday night, after dinner, my disappointment was reason to fear night and I found myself alone, in 21 hours, with nothing to do and wants to go home. So I went to the movie theater to play roulette. Hot Tub Time Machine playing almost immediately, and then the next film would be another 45 minutes. I * almost * turned around and went home to make sure I was that this film was going to be stupid and not funny. But I figured, what the heck, I'm here ... Well, the movie * is * stupid. But it's funny too. And what's more, it knows its stupid and makes no bones about it. At no time should you ever take seriously. Now, I could do without some really gross bits. Luckily there arent * too * many of them. And I'm sure that not all 80 routes, although I did not get through this period, I largely avoided in popular culture at the time, and still can not tell most of the bands or big hit songs (or today for that matter). But I have to admit, the movie was to make me laugh. Not all all, but I have some real laugh out loud moments. And many chuckles and smiles. And I found myself really liking the characters, and find them to be a little deeper than I expected from the movie called Hot Tub Time Machine. The main theme of the loss of zany, free-form entertainment to young and regret measured relative blandness of life is a theme that resonated me.Now, be realistic. It is not a citizen Cane, dizziness, or Godfather. Neither timeless comedy masterpiece, like a plane, blazing translation or Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Has anyone here seen the gross injustice by trying to compare the classic 30s comedy, but apparently it did not happen overnight, bringing up baby, or Duck soup, and if you go to the theater expecting it to be, blame in you. What it is, is silly, fun, enjoyable way to pass a few hours. Not deep, not deep, not brilliant. There are endless enduring.But is not bad. And not nearly as stupid as it looked like it was going to be. And these days, it's not that bad. |
