Review: I think itll take a while for the effect that out. I have the Unrated Edition of The Boondock Saints two days ago and Im still reeling from the experience, which is unrealistic, to say the truth. To be honest, a film that sharply written, acted, and directed a real rarity these days. The writer-director Troy Duffy dive into the murkiest depths of the law, and the apparent insignificance in modern times, and how it takes two Irish brothers twin brother, Conner and Murphy (Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus - both of which are a little too convincing in their roles), to generate enough debate about vigilantism media heroes have. The release of Boondock Saints fans in 1999 is due to the Columbine massacre and the plot by Conner and Murphy was on a mission from God attracts some Eerie parallels with the reasons of Columbine killers Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold. As the film opens in Boston to St Patricks Day, Conner and Murphy to get into a bar-room brawl with some of the Russian toughs toughs and said that the next morning was discovered in an alley in piles of their own blood and guts. FBI agent Paul Smecker (Willem Dafoe) shows the scene the local police a thing or two about Criminology show and theorizes it was a revenge killing. Quite soon, two injured brothers rolling in the police station and claim self-defense. Theyre let out after a night in jail (plus experience a laxative prison cell baptism), and no charges filed. But soon, more bodies turn and Smecker learn that Conner and Murphy (and third, David Della Rocco) could be behind the chaos in the streets. Duffys film is a bloody one (most of the gruesome violence is expanded in the special edition unrated), a cackling roadmap including 246 uses of the f-word and different Irish-Euro-snake, and a terrible reputation in recent years and have been embraced as a cult phenomenon. (It is easy to see why, if you are a fan of relentless violence and bloodshed PS. The action is so balletic style in its style and excess that is almost reminiscent of a John Woo picture.), I can not believe I took away from this film for so long, Darn it! The opening moments dont you prepare for what comes next, and even though the action (not enough and, as before, is expanded in the Unrated version) is very bloody, there is a sad sense of humor runs through the slaughter and I went out laughing at more than one occasion in the image. And yet, there is a sense of beauty and tragedy lower part of the action in the Boondock Saints, and its end will certainly leave a bitter taste in the mouths of some. Finally, I would recommend reading about how much of the controversy surrounding the Boondock Saints as they possibly can, itll make the experience much more hypnotic.10/10
